Coming in from the north is steeper while the southern approach is a long series of switch backs up to the saddle then an "easy" hike from there.   If you've made it this far the hike up should be no problem.  Beware of headaches on the day of your side hike.  If a participant wakes up with a headache in camp prior to the side hike extra care and water should be provided.  If the headache worsens as you climb I would recommend keeping that person below 10K ft.  This may be an indication of alt. sickness.
