RE: [Philmont]: Alternatives to Philmont

Gee. there are LOTS of GREAT options!!!! It's enough to make me start
looking at my calendar for next summer and dreaming of adventure.

Here's another great summer camp option, combining boating with interesting
High Adventure activities......

Chisholm Trail Adventure, just west of Ft. Worth, TX on Lake Bridgeport.

It's less physically demanding than a Philmont trip but will have your crew
shooting black powder, water skiing (or tubing), rock climbing, becoming a
cannon crew (complete with mock battle), becoming a Texas Ranger on a trail
ride, mountain biking, sailing, all in addition to motoring around a large
lake with their own pontoon boat.. (did I mention staying in teepees and
atlatals?)

We had a ball on our Chisholm Trail Adventure in 01.
