Greetings Pete,

Congratulations on a successful Philmont experience. I hope you got lots of
pictures, that you
will post them on the web and that you will send me the URL.

It was particularly gratifying to hear that half way through the trek your
crew came together as
a "well oiled machine". That's a special part of an authentic Philmont
experience, where the boys learn how to work together as a "family".

I hope the young men who went to Philmont will return to their home units
and share the Scouting they have learned with their fellow Scouts. The
teamwork they have learned at Philmont is a part of an authentic Scouting
experience in all Scout activities.
