I know it sounds simple, but you need to add 3 adults. You can add only 1, but if something happens on the trail to one of the adults, you'll all have to leave the trail unless they can find you a ranger to finish the trek with you.

I am never at a shortage for adults. Check with your roundtable or your council. I am sure you will have no problem with finding additional people to participate.

As a follow up. We are from High Point NC. We have 2 Crews, consisting of
14 boys and 3 adults, as of right now. This will be our first Philmont
experience for all of us except the lead advisor having gone in the 70's as a Scout.
And yes we would actually have room for more.
We have just now in the last week lost our 4th adult so we're looking at
what to do to be able to take 2 crews.
