The campsuds will clean food off the dishes and make them nonsmellable
with regard to the traces of food. You then have to rinse the dishes well
to remove any trace of camp suds to get rid of the camp suds smell.

I use the rule of three in rinsing clean dishes. Three fresh portions of
clean water
will get a clean utensil or clean dish nearly odor free.

Sounds like more than what is needed but it takes very little material to
cause an odor.

It's useful to use the "nose" test to determine if something is odor free.
Not
everyone but often some one in a group will have a nose which is really
sensitive to odor. Have them smell the item to decide if it is odor free.
