Not sure why that matters, no matter the itinerary, the food's the same.
Of course, if the mileage is shorter, I guess that could affect weight loss
:-)
Itinerary 2.

I don't think we got a single breakfast that I would consider nutritionally
acceptable.
The breakfasts are all 1/2 trail food, 1/2 some form of granola or cereal
product.
They need a lot more dried fruits in the breakfasts, and some form of dairy
products (these only showed up in lunches). Super fatty beef stick type
products in 2/3 of the breakfasts. Lots of nuts. Lots of Gorp.

Lunches were nutritional about half the time, with a lot of sweets.
Occasional
applesauce or dried fruits, but not as often as they should. Crackers in
every lunch
with either fatty squeezers alternating with ham or tuna. Always a sweet
dessert.

Way too much fat and sugar, not enough protein and fruits.

Dinners were usually acceptable, except for lack of fruit (there was a small
quantity of vegetable in most), though no one wanted mashed potatoes added
to their
one pot meal. They always called for too much water.

The biggest problem with the breakfasts, other than nutrition, is they are
very dry and large water consumption is necessary to help get it down. I
know they want us drinking lots of water, but that tended to make me feel
bloated hitting the trail, I'd rather sip throughout the day than chug down
a quart or two before I start. Wouldn't mind some powdered milk in many of
the bfasts to help with eating the granola or cereal and make it a bit more
palatable than just water.
