I guess it's all a matter of perspective. We ate almost everything we were provided, most of us lost weight. Probably depended on what the initial weight was at the start of the trek. As for breakfasts, I saw LOTS of dried fruit in the swap boxes, maybe they were trying to put something in that boys would eat.
Our crew had no problem at all adding potatoes to the one pot meals, it often was quite tasty. We even added garlic mashed potatoes to the pasta primavera.
Overall, our crew thought the meals were pretty good.
Our biggest complaint was that we would have preferred more jalapeno cheese, and less peanut butter.
