it's playing the hand that you are dealt, it's sucking it up, toughing it
out, cowboying up. It's not griping about things you can't change anyway. It's a

a philosophical bent, that makes hard days easier.
Amen !!
As the wise old Eagles say.....(not the ones that fly but the ones that sing)
"Get over it".
I believe that's what Philmont was based on, It is as much of a psychological
challenge as it is a physical challenge. Much as life is...deal with
it...take an assessment of what you have, what you need and then make a determination
to get on with it.
Last week at our Court of Honor, I had the pleasure of introducing two of my
Phil-Scouts (0609B 2002) that had just returned after 6 weeks on Trail.
They gave themselves a gift for their High School Graduations, 18th
Birthdays, and achieving the rank of Eagle by beginning the Appalachian Trail. In 6
weeks, 5 states, a few inflamed joints they had completed 600 miles. It was their
FIDO attitude that got them through several tough spots.
Will they be able to handle the stresses of college or anything the life
throws at them?, I think so...and with a smile of self-confidence that they can
achieve and overcome.
Dave invite me if you and Pete ever get together for Trek.
Hope this helps.
