I would presume, and I don't know the official answer, that if you brought your own food (without a dietary reason beyond taste or preference), that you would not have the luxury of having those provisions delivered to you on the trail. Maybe you could mail them to the commissary camps on your itinerary.

Even if I didn't think the PhilPhood was entirely edible (I'm personally fine with it), I'd have to pause to consider the prospect of carrying 10 days' worth of provisions if I didn't have to.

Now, the cafeteria in base camp, that's a different matter entirely....
