We were walking down the road from Sioux to Ponil and one rattled at us as
we walked by. It was sticking it's head out of the high grass on the side
of the road. I was able to get a great picture. And it was quite large.

More rattlers = far fewer minibears (also = reduced risk of hantavirus).

Rattlers are great - they are the only poisonous snake that warns you
it's there and P.O.'d What's not to like?

They are also, as Don says, quite tasty (no they do NOT taste like chicken!)

The stretch between I.W. and Old Camp is Rattler-Heaven. They're
everwhere. Quite a few around Harlan too.
