The earlier you go, the more risk you have for snow at higher elevations.
I believe that some of the higher peeks at Philmont were snow covered and
had limited access earlier in the year. For example, I thought I saw a
thread about the Mt. Philips camp being closed due to snow early in the
year. Any comments from those who went earlier this year?
