We were on 6-11. Phillips camp was indeed closed for about the first week. We weren't scheduled to stay there (Trek 4), but we crossed Phillips on about 6/18, there was still snow, but mostly small drifts. I think they opened the camp on either the 18th or 19th, maybe the 20th.

The earlier you go, the more risk you have for snow at higher elevations. I believe that some of the higher peeks at Philmont were snow covered and had limited access earlier in the year. For example, I thought I saw a thread about the Mt. Philips camp being closed due to snow early in the year. Any comments from those who went earlier this year?
