I'll second the kudos for Alps gear and basic backpacking fair. While I
would never begrudge someone a Dana Design or custom McHale pack, for almost
all out Scouts, Alps is an excellent choice. Looking around our Troop we
have several styles of their tents, sleeping bags, packs, pads, and cots.
All have performed well.
