I'm impressed with what you've been able to do in such a very short time.
You
already have some excellent photos, from the few I've looked at so far. The
"camera" icon is a great idea.
One thing that would be in the "nice to have" category would be a link to a
topo map showing where the treks and camps are located. This is what
Ben Salinas was trying for on his "virtual tour".
This is likely to be a lot of work, however, and getting the pictures up to
give
an idea of what a given trek may be like is worth doing first.
At one time Philmont ran a photography contest for crews. It is likely that
crews coming off the trail this season can provide you with the photos you
need. It is also likely that the Philmont management could help you locate
the crews whose photos you need. The Philmont management will also be
especially knowledgable about the special scenery and features of each trek
which you would want to include on your site.
I wish you the very, very best with this project. It will help crews plan
in
a much more knowledgable way for their Philmont trek. For many this is
a once in a lifetime experience, and to plan with the assistance of the
information and photographs on your site will be a very good thing.
It will also be interesting for Philmont veterans who will enjoy seeing
"their" trek again, as well as the rest of the Ranch they did not get to.
Many hands make light work. Look for some way to get Philmont
veterans to "adopt" a trek and get the very best photos up on your
site that you possibly can.
Best wishes,
Joe Jansen
