[Philmont] Rainpants & Pack Covers

My son and I have Cabela's packable nylon raingear. The jacket is
mesh-lined, but the pants are just nylon. They weigh and pack next to
nothing. We bring 'em every time.

As for pack covers, we have the REI pack covers as well. We never had
problems with them getting caught on branches, etc. However, having pack
covers didn't prevent us from packing our down sleeping bags in plastic
garbage bags. No sense in taking chances on the sleeping bags getting wet!
