We did Trek 15 this summer. Starting camp was Cimarron River, about 1 mile
from the highway crossing at Bear canyon. This was a new route for 2006.
Was a great one, but should be rated higher in difficulty. There were some
long distance hikes (14 to 16 miles) that our older crew handled well, but
would have been a test for a younger crew. Cimarron River Camp's water
source is the river. You are not near the river at camp, it is a mile back
down the trail. We went up to Visto Grande camp for water from the spring
pipe, as the day we were there the river was running high and muddy from the
heavy rain.
