[Philmont] = photos of campsites

We stayed at Porcupine in 2003, I may have some pictures from around our campsite that will do. This was our first 'really cool' campsite. We had seen upper sawmill (didn't get the really fantastic view until we hiked up to the staff cabin the next moring on our way to Red Hills.) Red Hills was neat too but the 'river' was just at trickle there. At Porcupine, we picked a campsite right on the river and had nice flow, the proverbial babbling brook running alonside our campsite. I'll have to check at home and see what I have picture-wise.

Was not able to find any photos of Porcupine - Not much to see, but I thought that we had taken photos. Photos on Mt. Phillips are primarily of the top of the Mtn, and not the actual camp. Lamberts mine is kind of like Porcupine, not much to see, just some campsites in the woods.

For the photographers name - just use Troop 168. We had 2 camera's, but we took turns as to who carried them and took photos, so no way to actually remember.

Location: Zip file name (ie, base camp, Mt. Phillips, etc.)

  Troop 168, Oklahoma City, OK

  Trek #22, Expedition 612A 2004

There will be several return emails due to file size. Will keep under 5MB. Let me know if you have trouble with any.

  Thank You Allen.

I'm looking for photos of the Mexican Dinner, Porcupine, Mt Phillips Camp, Lamberts Mine, Deer Lake Mesa Camp and Turkey Creek Turnaround ... since 22 covers this ground I'm hopeful that you are willing and able to help. If you can, please include the Photographers name, location where the photo was taken, Troop # (including city & state), trek #, expedition number and year so I can include proper photo credit.

Thanks again.

We did Trek 22 in 2004. It essentially has not changed since then. The info you show was correct for 2004.

I need help to confirm the turnarounds associated with each of the starting
camps.

Using the information in the 2006 treks book as well as other sources, I've
figured out the following:

Treks 1,6,22,25 - Vaca via Turkey Creek Turnaround
Treks 2,3,9,17,19,32 - Anasazi via Six Mile Gate
Treks 4,5,14,20,23,33 - Lovers Leap via Lovers Leap Turnaround
Treks 7,21,30,34 - Sioux via Ponil Turnaround
Treks 8,10 - Ute Springs via ??
Treks 11,26 - Rayado River via Zastro Turnaround
Treks 12,31 - Old Abreu via Zastro Turnaround ??
Treks 13,16,29 - Olympia via Zastro Turnaround ??
Treks 15 - Cimarron River via ??
Treks 18 - Cathedral Rock via Cimarroncito Turnaround ??
Treks 24,35 Dean Cutoff via Ponil Turnaround ??
Treks 27 - Bent via ??
Treks 28 - Rimrock Park via ??

Any help or correctionw would be appreciated.

Most, if not all, of the camps voted 'most scenic' have photos on the
PhilSearch site ... I'm also still looking for photos for several staff
camps, activities and many unstaffed camps & turnarounds. Your help here
will help complete the virtual trek capability .. and will let you play your
favorite trek. If you can help, please contact me via the link on the
PhilSearch home page.
