Not much of any other way to do it. After some trial and error I did
find a way that was quick and easy. I hook one end to the pack using
the chinch straps on the sleeping compartment. Then I hook it to the
upper end of the pack using an extra quick release strap that I hook
through some of the loops on my pack. So it pops on and off rather
quickly with only three connection points.
If you are truly an ultralight convert, you would not carry a chair at
all. I'm more of a comfortlight backpacker. Try to stay light, but I
will carry one or two "comfort" items. When I am going really light I
just carry my Hennessy Hammock. It can serve as a chair and tent and
you do not need a sleeping pad. But obviously not for Philmont.

Subject: [philmont] Chairs
I took my 10th anniversary edition Crazy Creek chair with me to Philmont
last month. As you may know, Crazy Creek is celebrating their 20th
anniversary, so my chair is just about worn out.
I'm leaning towards replacing it with a Slinglite, but as a convert to
the
ultralight style of backpacking, I'm wonder what's the best way to carry
it.
Everyone that I see that has one simply straps it to the outside of
their
pack - anyone know a more elegant solution?
