{Last January I was introduced to the Weather Channel radar via cell phone by a welder working on a dock renovation project along the river at our plant. We are always on the lookout for thunderstorms approaching. Since my birthday was in the first part of February, I gave this $3.99 per month service to myself as a birthday present}
FYI - you can get updated weather radar from weather.gov (NOAA's Site) on your cell phone or wireless pda free (well we do pay our taxes for it). The mobile website is http://mobile.srh.weather.gov. You can navigate to find your city and state (or Philmont) for that matter. It is not a pretty as the Weather Channel but the price is right. A Scout is Thrifty.
It works on golf courses and scout outings (if you have cell coverage).
