13 pounds certainly sets some kind of record. Let me speculate - your
"sleeping bag" is really a mylar film reflecting film. You are taking
only one item of each type of clothing. (My luxury item would be lots
of socks :-) ). You are taking a garbage bag with a holes cut out
for head and arms for rain protection.
You may have had a gear list like the one at
http://www.hepth.cornell.edu/~seb/philmont-kelly-gear.html
which weighs in at 13 lbs 10 oz
and found a "weigh" (pun intended!) to eliminate 10 oz
