Just returned. My comments on pack weight are to focus on the Big 3. Tent,
Sleeping bag, and pack. My pack weighed 42 lbs. out of base camp. In 03
my pack weighed 47. I have an old external frame Dana design that weights
8 lbs. sleeping bag, Blue Kazoo at 2.10, and Hubba Bubba tent at 4 lbs.
I did try to save on expenses and not buy a new pack due to the fact that I
am very comfortable with my pack but it is too heavy. You can get a Golite
pack that weighs about 2-3 lbs.

I would get a light weight sleeping bag about 2lbs, 30 degree and take
capline shirt and pants for added warmth if needed.

I also carried a thermarest and Crazy creek. I would get a Z-rest full
length ( for warmth ) and consider using a lighter camp chair. our ranger just
used his Z rest to sit on against back. ( Do not eat while sitting on
Z-rest). I loved my tent and it worked great. You can get carbon fiber poles for
the tent and save about 1/2 lb.

I would only take nalgene, bowl, and spoon or a seirra cup. I took a pair
of crocks for camp shoes worked great and light weight. Watch your
smellable bag for personal items that may be included in the crew gear such as Purell
and camp soap. Don't need for each camper to carry their own can just share
with the crew.

We have 5-6 days of rain so warm clothes helped at altitude. We looked at
the temp one morning was 42.

I hope this helps.
