Absolutely amazing. And pathetic. By Aug 21 over 1/3 of the public schools in the St Louis area will have started classes. One starts on the 13th, and another starts on the 15th. Our Council contigent World Jamboree Troop returns late on the 11th. Some of those poor kids get one day before starting school.

Almost, but not quite. The last day of incoming crews this year is August 14th. Those crews will hit the trail on the 15th for short treks. All treks will be finished this year on August 20th, with all crews leaving for home on the 21st.

So on the subject of "Last full crew;" what is the last day Philmont sends a crew out on the trail for the summer? What is the first day of the summer?
My son is there (Crew 730-R5) doing trek #8 in the south country and I am thinking that when they get back into base camp on Friday there will be few, if any trail bound crews in camp. Is that a fair assumption??
