The neat thing about the trail guide is that they would be a good companion
to the Field Guide. Several of the trail descriptions point out various
features that are along or just off the trail. Of course, many of the
trails have been re-routed to make them less prone to erosion and to allow
the previous trails to revegetate. One thing I noticed for instance is that
apparently there are some petroglyphs in the vicinity of Aguila camp. Had
the Rivera Mesa fire not resulted in an itinerary change on our trek last
summer, I had intended on a side hike to check if they were still there.
Happy Trails,
Roy Fisher
