For the time being I'm working off the information sent to me by Philmont
(and on the web at www.scouting.org/philmont)
So PS will require that you select an approved turnaround to start from, but
you can edit that trek step to be anything you would like after the AA trek
is created and you are in the trek editor.

Subject: [Philmont] autumn adventure
During AA treks, we've been dropped at these locations:
New Abreu
Beaubien (twice)
Cimmaroncito
Miranda (twice - but several people hiked in from the Maxwell Turnaround)
Ponil
Zastrow
Simple Simon's
In '96, we backpacked from the Cito Turnaround to the Hunting Lodge in 6"
-10" of snow. That took about 4 hours. One crew member, a late arrival,
was transported to the Hunting Lodge in a Suburban. He had a nice fire
going in the pot-bellied stove when the rest of us arrived. So, sometimes
arriving late does pay off.
