[Philmont] collapse of world in 2012

No doubt Bill is referring to the fateful date of 12/21/12 when the
Mayan calendar comes to an end and apocalypse is widely predicted.

all mine going back to 1965 when my parents got me a gift subscription
for Christmas."

There's a not-widely accepted theory that, sometime in the year 2012,
throughout the heartland of American, homes will begin collapsing, as if
on signal, their structures overborne by the weight of piles of
yellow-bordered magazines in their attics.

A word to the wise.
