Not just an accent with "Andre" (I think that was his name). When we
arrived at Miranda, after our porch talk (actually held in the Aspen
grove to the right of the cabin), I was directed by John to talk to
Andre about the evening program, and he responded in French. So I
chiselled about 2 inches of rust off those brain cells and did the best
I could for about 3 minutes. Which wasn't very good at all, but "Andre"
seemed quite pleased that I made the effort, and I was comprehensible
enough to get the info I needed.
