My apologies for the generalization, but you get my drift. I've seen the references to the new on-line Committee Training and I've seen the Den Meeting in a box. Nice idea on that, but sure takes the wind out of the sails of a creative Den Leader. Of course, a really creative Den Leader wouldn't need it! The jury is still out on the Committee Challenge, although as a former Unit Chairman, I would point out that the key word there is Committee. A little difficult to do online as a group without a a large screen and technical assistance. I always preferred the packet.

Please don't speak for all Scout Shop managers. I am the manager of a Council-owned Scout Shop (although I suspect National would prefer we call ourselves a Trading Post) and I stock every item of leader literature available, even if I have to keep much of it in the back due to display space limitations. I still have a few copies of Passport; interesting to hear that it's going away.
But the handwriting is on the wall when the Troop Committee Challenge group training/teambuilding packet is replaced by on-line training, and National Scout Shops get automatic shipments of Den Meeting In A Box, while uniform shirts go backordered nationwide.
Grumble, grumble.
