I encourage you to think long & hard about using one of those devices that
allows you to use your sleeping pad as a chair.
*) Where will you be using the 'chair' version of your sleeping pad? When
you eat maybe? On the porch for advisors' coffee?? I certainly wouldn't
want to have my sleeping pad anywhere near food & as careful as I am with
food, accidents can always happen & if not by you, by others in your crew.
Little dribbles of gatorade powder, little dribbles of food.... I think you
can get the point.

Keep your sleeping pad for sleeping & don't bring it anywhere near where
food items will be. Same kind of thinking thinking should be applied that
goes for separate sleeping clothes.

I have loved my crazy creek chair. It folds nicely & can be easily strapped
to the outside of a pack so you can quickly get to it at rest breaks, etc.
There are several imitation brands available now too & if you shop wisely,
you can find bargains. You can also order a crazy creek from the Tooth of
Time Traders that has a the Tooth printed on it & says Philmont.

Whatever tush comfort system you choose, I encourage you to stay away from
using your sleeping pad anywhere outside your tent.

Signe Rogers
