Two scouts on our trek last year purchased the Alps Red Tail. (One was my
son)
The packs worked great. The boys are rather skinny so the waist belts were
tightened up all the way. Be sure to give them the height and weight of the
boy when you order.
We supplemented with a piece of one inch webbing and a couple of buckles to
make a fanny/shoulder bag out of the top pocket.
Great bunch of folks there at Alps. I use one of their daypacks daily to
carry my laptop and files/books etc. We also purchased a couple of the
compression stuff sacks. They are kinda heavy but they are tough as nails.
We also got one of their three man tents and carried it to Philmont.
I, personally wouldn't hesitate to purchase from them again.
