I?ve had the privilege of being an adult advisor on three Philmont treks. Each time we had three adults in our crews and we never got the impression from the rangers or base camp staff that they objected to the 3rd adult. You need three: If you only had tw
 o adults and one of the ?old guys? gets hurt or needs to leave the trail for some reason, then your entire crew would be brought in (two-deep leadership requirement) or a ranger would have to accompany your group, which may not be possible and would proba
