I agree with Don about the film. I have been an advisor in '97, '00, =
'01, and am bringing Raleigh's contingent back in '02. Each of these =
years they "advised" putting the camera and film up in the bear bags.=
Contrary to my rangers advice, I left my 35mm camera, film, and bag,=
hanging in a tree, inside the "bearmuda triangle", at night. This wa=
s done of my own choosing, at my own risk to the welfare of "my" came=
ra. My rangers' concerns seemed to be more for the welfare of the exp=
ense of the camera, than to the film "smell" attracting a bear. Rega=
rdless, my camera survived, no incidents, either bear related or scou=
t related. Last year, not even the Staff checking our campsite at Cla=
rk's Fork didn't alert us to this "danger" either. The following morn=
ing we were told of a couple of disgruntled crews that had been awake=
ned to "fix" their campsites. We were at Clark's the night they trapp=
ed the second bear. I myself was more worried for the safety of my ca=
mera dropping in the bear bags than from "smelling" like it belonged =
in a bear bag.=0D=0A=0D=0AGlenn Garrett=0D=0AOcconeechee Council=0D=
