After we had finished the main course, our crew took the desert and added
water. Then back in the pot. Didn't matter what it was we sometimes had it
hot sometimes cold.
This was demonstrated by our ranger.

I've heard a lot about desert.

What is served for desert (assuming you didn't put it all in one pot)?

The only desert we ever have on the trail is freeze dried ice-cream
sandwiches.
