[Philmont]: One Pot Meals are Discusting ----Sometimes

<< Sometimes we combined the soup with the main course (which will require
reducing the water from the amount if prepared in two pots), sometimes we
didn't, but we always prepared the dessert separately - that is taking one
pot way to far
   in my opinion. >>

amen to that.

I only have one comment about one pot meals. When the ingredients are planned
well, they are delicious. I am thinking crawfish etouffe, gumbo, chili,
stew, etc.

However if you are dumb enough to let someone talk you into or just take
charge and do it and dump everything into one pot for whatever the reason,
then I think you should eat the garbage they make and throw up like I would.

If God wanted rice and beans, Lipton cup of onion soup and chocolate pudding
all cooked in one pot, then God would have packaged it all in the same
envelope.

I do not say this in disrespect or in gist. We are given a thinking brain,
so use it. Use it to overule missive thinking such as chocolate pudding and
rice and beans in the same pot.

That's a yankee doodle damned idea if I ever hear of it. Reminds me of the
stuff my uncle used to feed his hogs. If that is what you think of your crew
members, then by all means go for it.

Our crew will be fareing better. A LOT better.

Speaking of which. Day one is 1 Jul 01. That means our Ranger leaves us on
3 Jul 01. If we can talk her into staying with us until the Fourth of July,
we'll have a real Cajun American meal to celebrate and it won't be cooked in
one pot either!

If she can't stay, then we'll celebrate the fourth early on her last day.
Rather it would be a celebration for her helping us get started. We'll show
her what one pot meals are. Three of them to be exact.

Crawfish Etouffe cooked in one pot like it should be and fresh white rice
cooked in the second pot and Cherry Pie in a third pot. And making that will
be OUR program in celebration of our country's birthday on the trail.

To each his own.
