Ladies and gentlemen,
Let me blow a horn a minute or two.
Signe Rogers daughter (I'll not mention her name out of respect for her
privacy) is the current past associate chief ranger at Philmont. She has
spent her entire college career summers at the ranch. Gigne gives advise
based on many treks and on a lot of first hand information from her daughter.
Last summer I had the priviledge to meet her and Jason Cotting , the other
associate chief ranger whom I made aquaintence with many years ago.
That meeting at the Philmont Ranger Office was the warmest meeting I have
ever had with people I've met on the Internet. I absolutely hated to leave.
I felt I had know them forever adn wanted to share just one more thing
forever.
Signe has shared many thoughts with me over the years both on the PhilList
and private. She is responsible for my "l love my Smart Wool socks". Long
story.
Take her advise seriously. She has been there done that.
