Chair: definately.
Trekking poles: Absolutely!!
Sunglasses: I took them last summer, didn't even use them, and only 2 rainy
days. My regular glasses with UV coating worked fine. I found that once I
returned to the urban jungle I needed my sunglasses more than I ever did at
Philmont. It was the glare that is bothersome. At Philmont, even at
altitude, the light is scattered, so no glare. Having a brimmed cap on most
of the time was plenty to keep my eyes in the shade. I suppose if I didn't
wear a brimmed cap, then the sunglasses might have been more needed.
