  I did the same, although only enough for a few "special" mornings. I chose against a whole lot of it because of the excess trash volume. I was still a hero though.

    Don't know if it counts as equipment but I have never been a fan of the instant coffee packets they used to give away at the Advisor's meeting.

    The last trek I went on I carried a generous supply of the Folgers Coffee "tea bags" and did not tell the other adults on the trek that I was taking them.

    On the first morning while they were "enjoying" their cup of bitter, dark water, I broke out my coffee packets. It wasn't quite the Community Coffee I've grown fond of here in 'Nawlins, but it was far better than that sludge.

    I brought enough for all of us to enjoy 2 per day and was a hero. I'm sure I could have traded off carrying Crew gear in exchange for these packets, but that wouldn't have been too Scout-like.

    Well worth the extra space.
