During my Ranger days and on recent treks I have used the same bag. While
consious of pack weight I do not lose any sleep over having an extra 4-5
pounds in my pack if I can justify it to myself.
I have an old, down Army Mountain bag. During those Ranger days I only spent
one night in a tent while in the back country. The cloth on the bag
resisted the dew and occasional lite rain. It also dried out fast.
With apologies to Charton Heston and the NRA, I'll give up my Army Mountain
Bag when they strip it off my WARM, dead body. :>)
