[Philmont]: Info from Philmont

I have our contingent Medical Form package and found the following very
interesting:

"During the summer of 2002, 28 participants (21 Advisors and 7 youth
participants) were not allowed on the trail because they did not meet the
height / weight requirements. THESE PARTICIPANTS WERE SENT HOME!

Please review the height/weight requirements with each participant. These
requirements will be strictly enforced by Philmont Scout Ranch for both
youth and adults. (NOTE: The maximum allowed for a participant under 21
years of age has been spelled out for the year 2003.)"

I also have a copy of a Philfood flyer that went out in this package.

Here is the main body of the information:

"In order to control inventory of our trail meals, the Commissary is
offering meals to any Council, Troop, or Crew wishing to experience real
Philmont Expedition meal packs. These Trail Meals come in 2-man packages.
Due to summer usage of these meals, not all are available. We have some
2001 4-man meals for sale at a 25% discount. To receive a menu with prices,
check on meal availability, or to purchase the meals, please contact the
Philmont Commissary and ask for Pat Adams or Joey Fernandez at: Phone
505-376-2281 ext 252 Fax 505-376-2602 Email philfood@springercoop.com
Please pass this information onto anyone interested in purchasing Philmont
Trail Food."

Incidentally there is also a used equipment flyer in this packet.
