I dunno, but a 10 inch piece of parachute cord tied around the neck of the
bottle affords a better fastening point.
I don't carry bottle like that while hiking, but in my canoe EVERYTHING is
tied in or rather cliped in via carabiner because by design, I am GOING to
roll it over in some sort of rapids at some point in time. That is just the
kind of water I like canoeing in.
