Yes, you can buy holsters for Nalgene bottles. We used them to attach
bottles to the canoes at Northern Tier last summer. There are several
vendors including Gregory and Outdoor Research, Lowe Alpine (Campmor). We
purchased ours locally at Blue Ridge Mountain Sports which may have a store
in your area.

Nalgene probably does know that the straps break. Their new NALGENE
GoCup(TM) has an additional strap with a caribiner attached.

Does Nalgene know that their bottles are so often used this way
(attached to packs or belts with a carabiner through the bottle cap
strap)? And if they do, do they know that the bottle cap strap doesn't
hold up well? Anyone know of a Nalgene bottle "holster" that will
attach to shoulder strap or hip belt?
