Does Nalgene know that their bottles are so often used this way
(attached to packs or belts with a carabiner through the bottle cap
strap)? And if they do, do they know that the bottle cap strap doesn't
hold up well? Anyone know of a Nalgene bottle "holster" that will
attach to shoulder strap or hip belt?
John Leblanc writes:
I dunno, but a 10 inch piece of parachute cord tied around the neck of the
bottle affords a better fastening point.
I write:
FWIW, while I was at PTC this summer, one of the (many) items I acquired was
a Nalgene bottle cradle made of woven strap. I now attach a carabiner
(Philmont branded, of course) to my (Philmont branded) bottle cradle with a
(Philmont branded) Nalgene bottle (pic of TOT proudly displayed) and attach
said carabiner to my (Philmont branded) web belt which holds up my (Philmont
branded) Shorts (arrowhead proudly displayed).
So, a Nalgene bottle "holster" is available from TOTT, I haven't looked in
my TOTT catalog to see if it is currently listed, however. I was eying that
TOT geologic survey medal Christmas ornament listed therein, however :-)
Now, if we can just get Shelly to sell a TOT/Philmont antenna ball, my life
may become complete :-)
