Thanks John,
You’ve given me some more ideas of what to hang from the mantle on the
fireplace, and the way to attach said things to the cup hooks that are
already placed there for that once/year fireplace ritual… Most people
would die if they saw my living room already. I seriously do have some
camping stuff hanging from & in top of the mantle & incorporated into
the living room décor. Where else does one store this stuff where it is
ready to grab & go?
Signe

Subject: [Philmont]: Jug Knot in the Sanctum Sanctorum

The term sailor is correct. It was originally used by
sailors to hold the jugs of rum on the walls of the
sailing ships. A little tricky to learn to tie but
works great, can hold any size jug (read bottle) and
only takes a short piece of rope.
Carol
Keep in mind that I have a wife, two daughters, a female cat and a
female labrador. I consider myself lucky if I don't get evicted from my
bathroom by at least one female during a trip to said sanctom sanctorum.
I am the only male within a hundred yards of ground zero.
As I type, I can't even get close to tehre as wife and daughter are
getting daughter "ready" for the HS Christmas dance.
I'll have to admit, that my little girl who tackled the PhilTrail this
summer with vigor looks as pretty as a picture and I'm sure she and
prince charming will have a wonderful evening.
The "enjoy life" side of me has this mental image of Carol's bathroom at
home and I'm dying laughing.
I see all these little bottles, medium bottles, large bottles, plastic
bottles, glass bottles, bottles of every make and manner all lined up
like little sailors abainst the walls of the counter top, ledge of the
bathtub, shower door sill, window ledge, top of the toilet tank,
wherever bottles are kept in a womens' sanctum sanctorum by the
hundreds.
And all these little bottles are duly emblazened with a jug knot
fastening them to their respective walls.
Carol, I just couldn't help myself! Thanks for the information on the
jug knot and thanks for allowing me some entertainment at your
...........well, help!
And if you think I'm gonna even think of talking about your kitchen or
wine cellar, you are mistaken! I've already pushed my luck!
Sincerely,
John LeBlanc
