Good thoughts Carol. And yes, I would agree that one should never hold back
breakfast to someone who really needs it as with medication. My experiences
has been that if it is not a medical thing, most of us can get up and get
our bodies moving and then sit down and eat.

My oldest son was on my 1998 trek and was under the care of a Dermatologist
to get his teenage acne under control. My son was supposed to rub on an
antibiotic cream at bedtime each night for about 3 months. I told my son to
just do it at 3pm to be within the bear guidelines. The Ranger told us we
should avoid the medicine if possible, but we just made it work and applied
it at an earlier time in the day. We surely didn't want an encounter with a
bear, but I didn't want to blow the medical procedure he had endured for a
month or so before Philmont.

Just use common sense, the Rangers are great, but they are for the most
part, young folks as well. You just need to make it all work out.
