RE: [Philmont]: knowing the medications

I am a diabetic and I have congestive heart failure. I take 3
medications every day. My problems are well controlled (hey, both of my
doc's gave me clearance - and letters to the Philmont medical director-
to go to Philmont) and have placed very few restrictions on my life.

My solution to ensuring that I had enough medication, was for me to
carry a supply and for another adult advisor to carry another complete
supply. A third set of medications was left in the crew locker, with
the keys in the security envelope, so that the Philmont staff could
access them if necessary.

We made sure that everyone in the crew knew about the advisors illnesses
and that all of the advisors knew about the scouts medical conditions.

You can't be too careful out there.

PS I made it without any problems, not even a blister
