As a camper in 1976, my favorite camp / place we stopped was Baldy Town. I
had a vague sense of what Baldy had been when gold was the attraction, and
have developed a greater appreciation of that since my trek. I encourage
local Scouts and Scouters to learn something about the history of Cimarron
and the area before leaving for a trek; it adds depth to the experience.
As a staffer, I enjoyed visits to Beaubien and Cimarroncito.
Happy Holidays,
Randall M. MacDonald
