I took Frogg Toggs to Philmont in 2002. The was very little rain and
lots of fire, but the Toggs worked great in the rain during training and
the showers (with hail) we had in camp at Wild Horse trail camp. The
zippered jacket and the pants weigh a little less than a pound in 180lb
advisor size. I used my rain jacket a lot for cold mornings and
evenings in the high country. I had a fleece jacket that I barely used
because the rain jacket kept me warm. Toggs are also about the least
expensive raingear around as well as the lightest. I have been in
London for the last few months and my rain jacket is always in my day
pack, so I can choose between the umbrella and the jacket.
