We had that problem for the original dates for our 2003 trek. Our schools
begin a week earlier than yours do!

We contacted Philmont as soon as we saw the potential conflict in dates, and
they were kind enough to find us a July date that got us home in plenty of
time.

Maybe you can get the same results. Let them know early.
