Since 2005 is a National Jamboree year, units on the waiting list will
have a better than usual chance of eventually being selected as quite a
few troops which signed up will drop out when they realize that sending
Scouts to both Philmont and the Jamboree will be impossible. In 2001 (the
last Jambo year), units with a waiting list number as high as 850 were
offered treks before Philmont was eventually filled. Don't expect that to
happen again but the waiting list will probably become very active after
the October 2004 installment payment is due and troops begin dropping out.
