Brian,
Lots of folks have done it, including the St. Louis Area Council which used to have a week long, guided canoe trip. The national Sierra Club even did one of their national outings on the Current. The Jacks Fork is usually low (the outfillters will always say "sure, lots of water") except during spring rains. Some of the toughest hikes I've ever had were dragging canoes down the Jack's Fork The Missouri river outfitters have their own website; www.missouricanoe.org. I and others like the National Park campsites along the river for groups, I prefer the gravel bars when it isn't a large group. The Current River is a National Park, tons of info out there.

Well, the dreams of topping Mt Phillips or Crossing the Tooth was nice for awhile....but back to the waiting list........

I know this is "Off-Topic" for Philmont, but does anyone have any experience in 5-7 day canoe trip on the Current River or Jacks Fork in MO? My PLC wants to do that as a Troop High Adventure Trip instead of NT or SeaBase.
