Fran was at Philmont in 2001. While I certainly can't speak for her
(and she would shoot me if I did...), I think that her relative (2001 v.
2005) statement can be taken as being accurate. Of course, that
*really* doesn't matter until you get the call that your number has come
up...

Recall 2005 is a JAMBOREE year, and in 2001, they got to the 300's (I
believe) on the waiting list, rather than just around 100 as normal.
Since the Jamboree ends in early August, I would think this may be a
factor in the "larger than normal" cancellations, just as it was in
2001. Whether Francis remembers 2001 (or was at Philmont then) and is
referring to it being larger than "jamboree normal", I cannot say.

Francis advised that they have experienced a "larger than normal" amount
of cancellations. She advised that they are working to fill the openings
from the waiting list. That is the original waiting list that was
established last year during the lottery. Francis stated that they are
not adding any new units to the waiting list as it is already an
extensive list and they do not expect to exhaust it.
